Real's Sneijder has coach Schuster reminiscing

Wesley Sneijder's (picture) impressive display for Real Madrid in their 5-0 away victory over Villarreal in the Primera Liga on Sunday drew praise from coach Bernd Schuster.

The Dutch midfielder, who joined Real from Ajax for 27 million euros last month, scored twice and set up a third and became the league's top scorer with three goals from the opening two games.

His first, a curling free-kick that went in on off the post just after the break, caught former Real player and free-kick specialist Schuster's eye.

"It reminded me of another blond that used to hit the ball like that a few years ago," Schuster said after the game, referring to himself.

"It was a spectacular goal. He's going to score a few more like that this season."

Sneijder told reporters: "I never would have believed I would score three times in two games. It is early to say if we can win the league, but we are certainly on the right track."

Champions Real are two points clear at the top of the table after two games, as the only side with a 100 per cent record. Sevilla, who won their opening match, have a game in hand.
