The World Press Photo exhibition, a unique travelling exhibition the result of a worldwide annual contest on press photography, will be held at St James Cavalier, in Valletta, between September 14 and October 7.

The event is an initiative of the World Press Photo, an independent, non-profit organisation based in The Netherlands. Its main aim is to support and promote internationally the work of professional press photographers.

This year's exhibition contains about 200 photographs and the annual public showcase of photojournalism includes the year's winning photo, together with award-winning images from each of the 10 contest categories.

Entrance to the exhibition is free.
