Roaming Euro tariff

Reference is made to Silvana Borg's letter (EU Roaming Rates, August 27).

We would like to inform our esteemed customer that the new roaming Euro tariff came into effect last Thursday, that is a month before the regulated deadline of September 30, 2007.

The roaming Euro tariff is applicable to all calls made and received within EU countries. All outgoing calls within the EU countries will cost Lm0.25c/ minute (E0.58) inclusive of VAT, while the rate for incoming calls will be Lm0.12 per minute (€0.28) inclusive of VAT.

Vodafone Malta's customers have been benefiting from reduced roaming prices since 2005 when we introduced Travel Promise and from April 1, 2007 when we were the only operator in Malta to reduce our roaming rates even further.

Vodafone Malta will also be introducing a free SMS push service where customers will automatically receive roaming tariff information in the visited EU country.

Furthermore, a freephone number will be available to all our customers where they can obtain information free of charge while roaming abroad. The EU Commission has already confirmed that Vodafone Malta is fully compliant with the requirements of the EU Roaming Directive.
