New one-way system in Swieqi

A new one-way system will come into force in Swieqi on Saturday.

The local council said that Triq L-Imghazel is to become one way to Triq Il-Wasliet and Triq Il-Gogi will become one way from Triq Il-Gabillott to Triq Il-Wasliet.

Triq Il-Qasam and Triq Swieqi to Triq Il-Gizimin will remain two way. Wardens will be at Swieqi to direct traffic during the first week.

Changes are also being made in the public transport route.

The route bus will pass through Triq Is-Sirk to Triq Il-Migbed and on to Triq Swieqi. The bus will then go up through Triq Is-Sidra and continue along the present route. The council said that this route will in future be extended to the upper part of Triq L-Ibrag and Madliena.

The public is requested to cooperate by following direction signs and by heeding instructions by the wardens.
