Battle of the Bands in Paceville

The third Battle of the Bands, held by Malta's Hard Rock Café, will kick off on October 4.

The Malta café has been named Hard Rock International's latest Top of the Rock, an award presented to six franchise and six company-owned cafes each year based on financial performance, sales accomplishments and community contributions.

A special event to celebrate this award will take place on September 8, where Kiss enthusiasts will be invited to a Kiss Party at Hard Rock Café in Baystreet, Paceville, featuring Gianni and his band performing some of Kiss' most popular songs.

Twelve of Malta's emerging bands will compete against each other to win the chance to give two performances at the Hard Rock Café in Gran Canaria, Spain, all expenses paid.

The participating bands are expected to own at least one original track and the performance is to include a mixture of original and cover tracks. The competition will come to an end on December 6 with a grand finale.

This year Hard Rock Café is also collaborating with The Malta Hospice Movement to raise funds throughout the event. Volunteers will be collecting money on site throughout the nights.

Application forms can be collected from Hard Rock Café, Bay Street Hotel Complex, St Julians, until September 8.
