Rubbish at cemetery

I fully concur with Denis C. Mifsud about the disgusting state of the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery (Laid To Rest In A Dump, August 18).

I visit my late husband's grave every Saturday morning and on going to the car park outside the main entrance was shocked recently at the amount of rubbish bags dumped there. I took some photographs and sent them to the Paola local council, which, I was told by the clerk in the cemetery, was responsible for the rubbish collection. To be fair, I did notice that most of the bags had been removed following my letter.

Like Mr Mifsud, I feel it is an insult to our loved ones and to relatives and visitors at the cemetery to have such an eyesore.
