Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko doubts that his club would lend him to Dynamo Kiev for a few months, even if Dynamo stay in the Champions League, the Ukrainian champions' president Igor Surkis said.

Surkis has said he would be delighted to have the Ukrainian international to help Kiev's Champions League campaign and was willing to pay his salary.

The 2004 European player of the year has yet to feature for the London team this season due to a back injury.

"He is sceptical about this. He is not sure Chelsea will let him," Surkis said. "If we get through the qualification for the Champions League then Andriy's help would be very timely."
