BORG. On August 16, at Karin Grech Hospital Maternity Wing, to Michelle née Brincat and Paul, God's precious gift of a son - ALEC, a most welcome brother to Neil. Deo gratias et Mariae. Special thanks to midwife Josephine Muscat and the doctor on duty for their assistance and dedication.

CALAMATTA. On August 13, in the UK, to Kate née Gordon and Matthew - JULIAN, a brother to Alex.

FOUNTAIN. On August 15, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, to Helena née Holland and Anthony, God's precious gift of a daughter - THEA MARIE, a most welcome sister to Patrick and Jack. Thanks to the obstetrician, midwife Josephine Attard and to all the staff at the hospital.

MIFSUD. On August 2, at St James Hospital, Zabbar, to Veronica née Brincat and Raymond, God's precious gift of a son - RAYANT, a most welcome brother to Marilyn, Tiziana and Christian. Thanks to the obstetrician, midwives Anna Calleja and Anna Croucher and to all the maternity staff at the hospital.

VELLA. On August 20, at St Philip's Hospital, to Sylvana née Cutajar and Mark Dominic, God's precious gift of a daughter - NICOLE MARIE. Thanks to the obstetrician, the paediatrician, midwife Carmen Cannataci and the hospital staff.

VELLA GERA. On August 16, at Edith Cavell Hospital, Brussels, to Helga Portanier and Alex, God's precious gift of a son - MIKIEL.

Sapphire Wedding

The marriage took place on August 26, 1962, at Our Lady of Sorrows parish church, St Paul's Bay, between JOSEPH N. and MARGARET. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Fr Serafin Galea, OFM Conv. Congratulations, Mum and Dad, on this very happy occasion. May you never cease to find strength, happiness and encouragement in each other's love and may God bless you both on this day and always. With all our sincere love and gratitude for your constant support, love and guidance over the years. From your children Stephen, Catherine and Michelle.

Obituary

AGIUS. On August 25, JOSEPH, of Birgu, residing in Paola, aged 82, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Gaetana, his children Emanuel and his wife Doris, Laurence and his wife Bernadette, Gracy and her husband Joe Attard, Martin and his wife Carmen, Reno and his wife Josette, and Rita and her husband Lino Xerri, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in-laws, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery (back entrance). No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated.

CILIA - Sr ROSALIA of the Sisters of Charity, died peacefully at the age of 82 on August 24, the anniversary of the death of the foundress, St Giovanna Antida Thouret, after a lifetime dedicated to the welfare of the sick. Sadly missed by her nephews Joe, Louis, Ronald, Vince and their families.
The families wish to especially thank the Sisters of Charity at Villa Maria SS Annunziata, Balzan, for the care and love showed towards her during her last sickness. May she rest in peace.

FALZON. On August 24, Carmelina (Lina), aged 74, passed peacefully away and went to meet the Risen Lord comforted by the rites of Catholic Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister Josephine, widow of Oreste, her brother Lawrence and his wife Josette, her in-laws Guzi, widower of her sister Censina, and Charlie, widower of her sister Rina, her nieces, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 9 a.m. for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated.
Lord, grant her eternal rest.

FARRUGIA. On August 25, at Casa Leone, LOUIS (Gigi), of Senglea, residing in Sliema, aged 91, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Yolanda née Busuttil Naudi, his children Sr Pauline, Sister of St Dorothy, Etoile, Joseph and his wife Marion, Marion and her husband Charles Galea, and Noel and his wife Lorraine, his grandchildren Kenneth, Christian and Daniel Galea, Alessandro and his wife Anouschka, Stefano, Karl and Kris, fiancées, nephews and nieces, sisters-in-law, his many relatives in Malta and abroad.
Funeral details will be announced later.

SCIORTINO. On August 23, at the Holy Family Home, Naxxar, CARMELO, aged 90, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his daughters Marilyn, Lucienne, wife of Mario Brincat, Aurora, widow of his son Edmond, his grandchildren Janica, wife of Josie Cachia, Ruben and his wife Francesca, Bernard, Andrew and Matthew, his great-grandchildren Benji, Tara and Luca, his sister Ersilia, his sister-in-law Rose Sciortino, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves the Holy Family Home tomorrow at 1.45 p.m. for St Venera parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Holy Family Home or Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated.
Lord, grant him eternal rest.
