Pre-Budget Document

The Malta Federation of Industry has appointed a committee, which is currently analysing in detail the pre-Budget Document entitled "Families growing stronger" that was published last month.

In its preliminary reactions of the document, the FOI commented positively on proposals for the reduction of the tax burden on the workforce, including those who are self-employed, so that there could be a stimulus in job creation.

The FOI also welcomed initiatives aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship in our country, as this would contribute to innovation. However, the FOI strongly believes that the self-employed and the micro and small enterprises need to be provided with more services that would present them with opportunities for new markets, innovations and access to finance including EU funding possibilities.

The Federation urges public entities to continue to improve their efforts in this area, while the FOI is making the necessary preparations to provide more focused and better services of this nature to its members.
