The Institute of Agriculture at the University of Malta is carrying out a general survey on the breeding of finches in Malta and Gozo, with the aim of establishing how widespread is the breeding of finches and how many birds are involved.
It will also help to identify any particular technical problems associated with the well-being of the individual species and the efficiency of the breeding systems. The survey is being carried out by means of individual questionnaires distributed to all those who keep finches. Meetings for bird fanciers are being held in various localities in connection with the survey.
All interested persons and associations can contact the institute on 2340 2322 or 7949 3668.
