After having been in the shadows for most of the practice sessions, Ferrari's Felipe Massa this afternoon delivered a stunning lap to take pole for tomorrow's grand prix in Turkey, recalling his pole position and victory at the same circuit last year.

It was a final session that kept everyone on his toes as the times were close for all four major contenders within Ferrari and McLaren.

Kimi Raikkonen had for long held the top spot but a corner taken slightly wide at the last session relegated him to third place. Second placed Lewis Hamilton will be on the front row for the third time this season whilst team-mate Fernando Alonso will share the second row with Ferrari's Raikkonen.

Third row goes the BMW Sauber duo, with Kubica ahead of Heidfeld followed by Renault's Kovalainen with Nico Rosberg in the Williams, Jarno Trulli and Giancarlo Fischella will close the top ten.
