Two 20-year-old Bulgarian women yesterday confessed to two counts of pick-pocketing.
Ana Danchova Murdzheva and Yana Marinova Nikolova pleaded guilty to stealing a wallet from a shop and Lm150 (€347) and €30 (Lm13) in cash and a digital camera from McDonalds, in Valletta.
The two women told Magistrate Miriam Hayman they were willing to pay for the stolen items but they did not have money with them in court.
The magistrate put off the case to tomorrow for judgement with the women being detained in police custody.
Police Inspector Pierre Micallef-Grimaud prosecuted.
Lawyer Patrick Valentino was defence counsel.
