Instead of trying to make us laugh with his humour (August 15) Noel Scerri should appreciate the fact that while in the US the authorities waited for the Mississippi River Bridge in Minnesota to collapse (causing deaths and injuries to many travellers) to rebuild it, the Maltese government has pre-empted such a tragedy and opted to repair Manuel Dimech Bridge.
I wonder what Mr Scerri's reaction would have been had the government neglected this bridge and allowed it to fall as happened In Minnesota. Such childish criticism means one thing. The correspondent and others like him find nothing serious on which to attack the government.
