Heritage Insurance Management (Malta) Ltd has set up Trinity Lane Insurance Co. Ltd and Setanta Insurance Co. Ltd in Malta. Both companies are authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority to carry out business of insurance restricted to risks situated outside of Malta. Both companies will initially be underwriting motor insurance and personal accident cover and availing themselves of the European Passport Rights of Insurance Undertakings Regulations 2004, under the provision of freedom to provide services.

Trinity Lane Insurance Co. Ltd has entered the UK market and will initially be supported by a number of specialist insurance brokers in the UK.

"As part of its expansion process, HIMM is building a team of professionals with the necessary experience and expertise to provide the full range of insurance services," Richard Tee, chief operating officer of Heritage Group said.

Evander Borg, who was the Middlesea Group's company secretary and compliance officer, will be heading the Malta operation, which will be supported by Heritage Group's Guernsey office.

The parent company, the Heritage Group, is a leading independent provider of insurance and specialist financial services. The group also has operations in London, Jersey and Bermuda.
