Malta U-21 lost a friendly against Portugal 3-0 in Vila do Conde, Oporto last night.

Portugal scored their goals through Joao Moreira (13), Joao Coimbra (60) and Nuno Coelho (70).

The warm-up match was the last test for Mark Miller's boys ahead of the UEFA Championship double-header in Bosnia, on September 7, and at home to France four days later.

Last week, Miller conducted a training camp for the U-21 squad in the Czech Republic.

Meanwhile, the U-19 national team lost their first match in a tournament in the Czech Republic yesterday.

The Maltese were beaten by a Norwegian side 2-1. Miguel Ciantar scored Malta's goal.

Other U-21 friendlies: Montenegro vs Slovenia 1-2; Greece vs Bulgaria 1-4; Germany vs Ireland 2-2; Sweden vs Wales 3-4; Scotland vs Czech Rep. 1-0; England vs Romania 1-1; Italy vs France 2-1.
