Women who suffer a miscarriage will be kept in a separate room from those who have just given birth once the obstetrics services move to Mater Dei Hospital, a spokesman said yesterday.

Wards in the new hospital have one, two and four-bedded rooms which will be used to separate women who give birth and those who lose a baby.

The spokesman was reacting to a statement by the MLP claiming that the failure to provide a separate room for women who lose their baby demonstrated the government's insensitivity towards these women's feelings.
