Clarification
With reference to Peter Prickworth's letter (Gender Issue, August 18), we would like to point out that Kenneth Zammit Tabona had correctly referred to Mrs Patrick Campbell as such in his original script and that the Mrs was omitted by mistake. Beatrice Stella Campbell née Tanner always wanted to be known as Mrs Patrick Campbell as her first husband Patrick Campbell had died a hero's death in the Boer War. In this way she hoped to keep his memory alive.
