Malta has always been known to be among the most generous towards the Missions. Indeed, solidarity and sharing with the needy remains one of its people's characteristics.
The Church in Malta continues to reach out not only to her needs but also to those of Churches in particular and difficult situations. It does this through the many Maltese missionaries, lay and religious, all over the world and through the different missionary organisations.
In particular I would like to thank the Mission Fund of Flat 2, St Joseph Flats, Triq il-Farinal, Mosta, and all its benefactors for the generous contribution to help the immigrants and especially their children of our foreign and pilgrim Church in a Muslim context.
It is incredible how used stamps and phone cards can generate enough for the many needs of our vulnerable brothers and sisters looking for a future.
Also writing to thank the Mission Fund for its donation were Sr Maria Salvina Grech, Sisters of Charity (Chad), Fr Paul Aquilina, SJ (Dumka, India), Sr Helen Creed, Little Sisters of the Poor (Nairobi, Kenya), Fr Paul Buttigieg (Villa Clara, Cuba), Sr Carmen Sammut, Missionary Sister of Our Lady of Africa (Hydra, Algeria), Sr Catherine Farrugia (Chisechesi, Zambia), Seminarian James Borg (Bangalore, India), Sr Anna Maria Sammut, Sisters of Charity (Lahore, Pakistan), Fr Bernard Caruana, OP (Dürres, Albania) and Sr Rachele Agius, Dominican Sisters (Pakistan).
