Landscaping was never our forte in any part of the Maltese islands. For that matter even the place where our dear ones are laid to rest is not spared either such a failing.
The picture above was taken on one of my occasional visits to the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. It shows the shabby state our cemetery finds itself in.
A road cuts through this part together with what was once going to be some sort of pavement but, that is where the job ended.
Can the authorities make the necessary arrangements to have this area in the upper part of the cemetery look more respectable thus offering our dear ones the love we all share for them?
There are no votes involved but everyone will pass through those gates at some time or other in life on a one-way ticket, never to return to the outside world.
It would be extremely comforting to know that one will be laid to rest in a Garden of Eden and not a dump.
