A couple was injured yesterday when the Maruti van they were in crashed into a tree at Vjal Sir Paul Boffa in Paola. The van was being driven by a 68-year-old man from Sliema who lost control of his vehicle, the police said.

The driver and his wife were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Their condition is stable, the police said.
