Bomb in Baghdad parking lot kills nine

A car bomb in a parking lot in central Baghdad killed nine people and wounded 17 yesterday, with the building also set ablaze, police said.

The bomb went off in a busy commercial area near al-Russafi Square in the heart of Baghdad. Witnesses reported seeing flames pouring from the building as emergency agencies fought the blaze.
