I believe that it is not only an airstrip that is needed but an airport. The problem can be solved quite easily. An airport can be built on the lines of the Gibraltar airport which is built on the sea.

Thus, it can be used not just by small aircraft, and land can be spared. Why should not the government follow the example of Gibraltar?
