San Giljan Zara's Matthew Zammit was handed a two-match suspension and fined Lm100 by the ASA Disciplinary Board yesterday.
The burly Saints' centre was disciplined for his reaction to a sending-off for brutality during last Friday's Wilkinson Sword League match against Sliema McDonald's which the latter won 14-6.
Zammit was excluded without substitution for four minutes early in the second session with the score reading 5-2 for Sliema. He was restrained by his colleagues as he tried to approach the referee in a violent manner.
If San Giljan fail to lodge an appeal against the Disciplinary Board's decision it would mean that Zammit's league commitments this summer are over. He should return for the Division One KO semi-final.
