The Alfred Mizzi Foundation recently presented Lm2,000 to the Il-Majjistral Nature and History Park, which was set up recently by the government.

The park consists of 2.6 square kilometres extending from Ramla tal-Mixquqa near Golden Bay to Il-Prajjet by Anchor Bay.

The park is to be managed by Din l-Art Helwa, Nature Trust and the Gaia Foundation.

The management of the site will stick to minimal intervention, focusing on the conservation and restoration of rubble walls, historic sites and degraded habitats, ground water protection, and the swimming zones and beaches including Golden Bay.

Heritage and nature trails are to be set up for visitors.

The sum of money presented is intended as seed money for a public fund, which would eventually allow rehabilitation work to begin at the park.
