It seems that some readers did not understand Stefano Mallia's response with regards to a letter published about the Birzebbuga roadworks (Power Of The Press, August 1). Just to spell it out clearly, although I do not know Mr Mallia personally it was obvious he was not referring to the state of the roads themselves, but to the cheap comments about making immigrants feel at home in Stephen Bugeja's letter. It is just so sad that some people feel the need to pass these comments in situations were there is no connection to immigration of any kind and attempt to pass them off as jokes.
