Another German midfielder is set to miss the England friendly with Tim Borowski the latest addition to the injury list.

Borowski is extremely doubtful for the August 22 Wembley match after picking up a knee injury on Saturday in Werder Bremen's 2-2 draw with Bochum in the opening game of the Bundesliga season.

He is the third German midfielder out of the England game, joining team-mate Torsten Frings and Chelsea's Michael Ballack on the sidelines.

Frings injured knee ligaments in a pre-season game last month and is not expected back until September, while Chelsea midfielder Ballack is recovering from an ankle operation.
