World 5,000 and 10,000 metres women's champion Tirunesh Dibaba will lead a 33-strong Ethiopian squad to the world athletics championships in Osaka, Japan, this month, the Ethiopian Athletics Federation (EAF) said.
Olympic 10,000 metres champion Kenenisa Bekele will defend the world title he won in Helsinki two years ago. Ethiopian athletes have won 31 medals, including 13 golds, at the world championships.
Dibaba, who also won the 5,000m in Paris in 2003, will face her compatriot Meseret Defar in a repeat of last year's Golden League showdowns.
Cricket
England struggled to 326 for nine in their first innings after the third day of the third and final test at the Oval yesterday, still trailing India by 338 runs.
With two days left, the home team are likely to have to bat for all today and most of tomorrow to avoid a 2-0 series defeat, providing India captain Rahul Dravid enforces the follow-on. Ian Bell (63), Paul Collingwood (62) and Alastair Cook (61) all made half-centuries but England's dire situation demanded a whole lot more.
