Malta striker Michael Mifsud made an immediate impact for Coventry City yesterday as he fired in his team's fourth goal after coming on as a substitute with just 18 minutes of the game remaining.
Coventry opened their season with a 4-1 victory away to Barnsley yesterday. Manager Iain Dowie left Mifsud out of his starting line-up but the nippy striker delivered an early reminder of his scoring prowess with a well-taken goal on the stroke of time.
The former Lillestrom forward, who had replaced Kevin Kyle, also got himself booked for time wasting in stoppage time.
Leon McKenzie, Kyle and Julian Gray got the other goals for Coventry. Brian Howard had scored a temporary equaliser for Barnsley after converting a ninth minute penalty.
