In Heritage No. 95 (pages 1,885-1,887) an article appears over my name entitled "Maltese traditional cookery, Eastertide pasta and pastry". I greatly regret that I have to dissociate myself from this article as it ignores my original script and style.

Title and contents have been editorially changed entirely, distorted, replaced and modified with unsolicited, hefty additions and cuts. None of my eight pictures have been included and the three appearing with the article are neither mine nor have they got anything to do with the original script title, which was: "Pastry and confection in local calendar customs; (I) The Easter Cycle".

Editor's note: When contacted, the editors of Heritage stated that they regret the inconvenience caused to Mr Lanfranco by the authorship of "Eastertide pasta and pastry" which was erroneously attributed to him.

Heritage is an encyclopaedia of Maltese culture and civilisation in six volumes published in 102 parts. It has currently reached No. 96.
