One of the highlights of the prize day ceremony at Can. P. Pullicino, Girls' Secondary School, Rabat, was Ma Nibnux Hitan, a short play inspired by David Campton's Us and Them, that deals with the division of society between those who share our opinions and those do not. This division runs throughout the fabric of our society, whether it is politics, football, village bands and so on. The message that we should be more tolerant was well-received by the audience.

The programme also included the school choir singing songs on the theme of unity and a short film shot by some teachers and students based on an Italian poem. The film took part in a competition in Italy.

In her address, the new head of school, Maria McNamara, encouraged the students to believe in themselves and their abilities, and thanked the staff and students for their participation in school activities. Her only complaint was the lack of a school hall in which to hold such activities. In fact, the prize day ceremony, which took place on May 29, was held at the Archbishop's Seminary, Tal-Virtù.

Alfred Mallia, director of Education (Operations), deputising for the Minister of Education, observed that the lack of a hall at the school fostered more co-operation and the sharing of facilities between schools.

He said that this year's prize day lived up to the school's reputation, adding that parents should rest assured that their children are in good hands.
