Ray Bondin has been requested by two walled cities in Portugal to assist with better valorisation of their cultural heritage and with possible nomination to world heritage status.
Dr Bondin recently chaired a conference on military heritage held in Elvas, Portugal, in preparation for a dossier for world heritage status.
Later this month he will attend a similar event in Almeida, also in Portugal.
He will be the main guest speaker looking at the military heritage of Almeida and the possibility that it be nominated for world heritage status.
Dr Bondin recently resigned from his post as executive coordinator and secretary of the Mdina, Valletta and Cottonera Rehabilitation Committees within the Ministry for Resources and Infrastructure. The resignation will become effective on August 31.
Dr Bondin will be taking up a post with Heritage Malta, where he will be in charge of projects.
