The MOC Sports Awards 2007 will once again be announced during a gala event to be held on December 12.

Earlier this week, the Maltese Olympic Committee launched the nominations process.

All national associations are invited to put forward the names of athletes who they feel deserve to be considered for an MOC award for the competition period November 1, 2006 to October 31, 2007. Closing date for nominations is November 2.

All sports organisations are encouraged to submit their nominations for this year's MOC Sports Awards. Prospective nominees (individuals or teams) must have achieved a high-level technical result in a first class continental/world or other such high-standard international event organised by that particular sport's international federation or a recognised international body.

All entries must be accompanied by the official result issued by the organisers of the event.

Established in 2001, the MOC Sports Awards are the premier recognition event for sporting excellence.

There are four awards' categories: platinum, gold, silver and bronze.

The list of nominees for the MOC Sports Awards will be announced by November 23.
