The police have seized fireworks they allege were being stored and manufactured illegally in two separate raids.
The first raid took place on commercial premises in Triq il-Kanun, Qormi on Tuesday afternoon.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera appointed a team of experts to assist in an inquiry. The police said that in another raid in a field at Ta' Kandja, limits of Siggiewi yesterday, a person was caught manufacturing fireworks illegally.
Following on-site investigations, the fireworks were removed with the assistance of the Explosives Ordnance Disposal Unit.
Among the seized items were petards as well as machinery used in the manufacture of fireworks.
Magistrate Audrey Demicoli is holding an inquiry.
The raids were conducted by police from the Special Branch assisted by district and mobile squad police.
Police investigations continue.
Asked if any arrests were made, the police said they were not giving any more information to that released in their statement.
