Hetronic Malta Ltd has celebrated its 25th anniversary of the date when Max Heckl, founder and chairman of Hetronic, designed the first safety radio remote control for a client.
The company is now a multinational one with headquarters in the US and with a production and logistics centre in Malta, whose managing director is Simon Grima. US Ambassador Molly Bordonaro, who was Mr Heckl's guest of honour at a reception marking the anniversary, described Malta as the ideal location for the industry with a highly educated and highly skilled workforce.
She expressed satisfaction with American investment in Malta, which collectively employs nearly 2,000 Maltese.
