Eurobasket players in London training camp

Eurobasket Mediterraneo players recently attended the Westminster Warriors training camp in London.

The experience was a useful one for the Maltese hopefuls who focused mainly on improving their skills besides figuring in some warm-up matches.

Overall, the number of those at the training camp was 102, split in different categories.

At the end of the training camp, Eurobasket Mediterraneo's Marie Clare Cilia was voted as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) by a panel of 13 coaches.

Another three Eurobasket players won prizes in different categories - Andrea Bruno (U-16), Michelle Abela (U-14) and Jaele Micallef (U-10).

"This is an exercise we repeat every summer," Eurobasket Mediterraneo coach Bane Vukovic said in a statement.

"We take players abroad and we notice that Maltese children are doing very well at this level."

Eurobasket have five junior teams in local national leagues - Eurobasket Naxxar, Basket One Gzira, Olymp Basket Zebbug, Maxi Basket Cottonera and Delta Basket Birkirkara.
