A delegation from the Libyan General People's Committee for Health and the Environment last week had meetings with officials from the Ministry of Health, the Elderly and Community Care.

The training of health care professionals and the sharing of expertise in areas such as family medicine were discussed.

The aim of the visit was to foster cooperation and strengthen dialogue between the institutions working in public health, communicable disease and pandemic preparedness.

The visit continues to build on Malta's participation in the Benghazi Action Plan last year, when Maltese doctors and paramedics trained Libyan health care professionals in the specialised sphere of HIV/Aids.
