The Astana cycling team have been accepted into next month's Tour of Spain without rider Alexander Vinokourov, race organisers Unipublic said.

The Swiss team backed by Kazakh companies pulled out of the Tour de France last month after pre-race favourite Vinokourov tested positive for blood doping.

The Kazakh rider, who won the Vuelta last year, has since been sacked from the Astana team. He denies any wrongdoing.

The Tour of Spain starts in Vigo and takes place between September 1 to 23.
