Gozitan based German artist Jörg Botcher has been holding his annual Farmhouse Gallery exhibition at roughly the same time for the past four years. And this year once again, he is exhibiting his paintings and photographs at his lovely old farmhouse in Ûebbug, Gozo. His annual showing will open on August 15, the feast of Santa Marija and run until August 19, the titular feast of the village of Zebbug, also Santa Marija.
Last year, for the first time, Mr Botcher invited a number of other artists to exhibit along with him. This was extremely successful, so this year he has decided to repeat the experiment. Along with his own work he will be exhibiting in collaboration with Katrin Grech, who is showing her innovative and attractive new hand made jewellery. Also on show at the Farmhouse Gallery will be the work of Heike Merz, a German underwater photographer, who will be showing photographs taken under the seas off Gozo.
Mr Botcher's annual exhibition has become something of an institution in Zebbug... indeed in Gozo, where the number of people visiting the showing has risen every year.
