Champagne opening for Palace hotel

The Palace, the new five-star hotel in Sliema, has opened its doors and welcomed its first guests with a champagne reception.

The guests were greeted by Claire Xuereb, general manager, who addressed them briefly.

Commenting on the event Ms Xuereb said: "A lot of thought and commitment has gone into the general concept of this hotel which, as one can perceive, is recurrent in the architecture, decor and the service. And now that the first guests are settled in it seems that our dream has become a very tangible reality, one, we are sure, that will prove to be an authentic breath of fresh air in this market."

The Palace rooms offer different designs based on classical and contemporary lines. There are also six designer suites inspired by the five senses and each will have a different theme namely view, light, flavours, fragrance, texture and music. The top three floors will also incorporate the hotel's spa and well-being centre.

The Talk of Town is the café which is situated in the lobby, the TemptAsian Lounge situated on the top floor of The Palace offers 360° of views and a fusion of Asian cuisines while The Tabloid is the hotel's main restaurant offering Mediterranean food.
