This year the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce are holding the seventh edition of the Young Musicians Contest. It will be held between October 18 and 26 and will encompass players of strings, woodwind and brass instruments. There are two age groups: Firstly that for mature musicians, that is anyone who has not reached the age of 30 by August 31 of this year. The second category will be for younger musicians, those who are below 17 on August 31.

This contest has proved extremely popular and competitive in the past and this year's event looks like being no different. Prizes will be awarded for the first three classified in each Category and there will be one overall winner of the contest. This overall winner will be presented with a trophy and also benefit from a two-week scholarship at the London College of Music at Thames University in London.

Regulations and Application Forms may be obtained from the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce at Palazzo De La Salle, 219 Republic Street, Valletta, from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 1p.m.
