The sixth edition of the Delicata Classic Wine Festival will be held between August 9 and 12 at the Upper Barrakka Gardens, in Valletta.

Wines from Malta-grown grapes such as Chardonnay, Syrah, Grenache, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Girgentina and Gellewza can be enjoyed throughout the four-day festival for the price of Lm3.75 per person.

Food areas will be offering a range of international dishes like chicken tikka masala and roast loin of pork as well as pasta, sushi, cheese, focaccia and dessert.

Food lovers will also be able to enjoy the open air, fully seated Grand Harbour Restaurant between August 10 and 12, set up in the lower gardens. A three-course meal, which includes a pasta starter, a mixed grill of fish or meat and dessert, as well as a half bottle of Delicata wine per person, will be on offer for Lm9.75.

Live music will be on each night with regulars who include Steve Cole, Joe Brown, Big Band Brothers, Chiara and George Curmi and his band. The William Dance Company will also be performing the Delicata Harvest Dance routine every night.

Kastilja, a locally grown 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, is bottled especially for the festival and will be on sale exclusively at the fair and at the next festival in Nadur. Only 300 bottles and 50 double magnums are produced.
