Ex-FIFA referee Elleray to conduct course at Ta' Qali

A pre-season Referees' Seminar will be held at Ta' Qali between tomorrow and Saturday.

This annual event, organised by the MFA Referees Board, under the auspices of UEFA, will be conducted by David Elleray, a member of the UEFA Referees' Committee and an ex-FIFA International Referee who had a distinguished career in England.

The subjects covered in the seminar will be:

The Referee's Personality; Management of Free-Kick Situations; Determining Offside; Consistency in Sanctioning Unsporting Behaviour; Reading the Game - Positioning; and Communications Between Officials.

MFA president Joe Mifsud will open the seminar tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the Technical Centre with an address to participants, including match inspectors who are invited to attend all sessions of the seminar.

Tom A. Restall, Head Referees Department of the MFA, will introduce the seminar which includes workshops, group reports and concluding questions.
