My friends and I decided to buy VIP tickets for the MTV show in order to have up-close seats and to be comfortable. What we got in return for spending Lm30 on each ticket was far from what we expected.

We got there at about 5.15 p.m. but weren't allowed in until about 7 p.m., right before Winter Moods came on stage. When we caught a glimpse of what the so-called Golden Circle was like, we were horrified. There were no seats, and the VIP area was so far away from the stage that everything looked minuscule. We found ourselves wishing we had just gone to the concert for free!

The worst thing was the alcohol. Although the red-carpet and VIP areas were separate, my friends and I had managed to grab the best places by the front railing due to being almost the first in line, thus gaining a good view of the red-carpet area. This is where we saw alcohol being given out to almost everyone, even to what appeared to be children under the age of 16. So much for all those rules and regulations about alcohol in the local clubs. Where are laws when we need them?

MTV threw an excellent show and I really want to thank them; however, I have nothing to say to the organisers. Is VIP a new abbreviation for standard rip-off?
