A group of 21 Form 4 students from Cottonera have successfully concluded a month-long work experience.
The students attend Lorenzo Gafà Boys' Secondary School. in Fortini, forming part of Cottonera College.
The experience was done at Malta Shipyards, the Guttenberg Press and Vista Coop.
At Malta Shipyards, 16 students attended the training centre where they were introduced to bench fitting, lathe work, pipe work and sheet metal work. The shipyards sponsored them for the whole month and provided them with safety clothing and equipment.
The students carried out several projects, which were exhibited during a presentation ceremony presided over by Education Minister Louis Galea.
Another two students went to Guttenberg Press, one of the main printing presses on the island.
Three other students are working with Vista Coop, helping in the organisation of Kidstart summer school.
