Popular Italian singer Lucio Dalla visited the Malta Classic Car Museum last weekend together with representatives of the well known Targa Florio rally that takes place every year in Sicily.

Dalla is a classic car enthusiast and was thoroughly impressed with the display using the typical Italian expression "Mamma mia!" on seeing all the vehicles. He commented that the museum is probably best he has seen in a long time.

This year has been eventful for the museum and its owner, Carol Galea. The new museum extension was opened. Thanks to the enthusiasm by all visitors, Mr Galea was encouraged to persevere in the venture and continue to expand his ever growing collection of automobiles, motorcycles and memorabilia.

The museum is now home to over 80 cars, ranging from classics such as Alfa Romeo, Austin, Jaguar, Fiat, Ford, MG, Mini, Mercedes, and Triumph to the latest Bentley, Viper and Ferrari.

Mr Galea's enthusiasm was further encouraged by people coming from far afield just to visit the museum after hearing about it in their home country.

Recently His Highness Shaikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait and His Excellency Abdulal S.O. Al-Qenaei, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait, visited the museum.

The organisers of the Grand Prix De Malte also recently visited the museum, after hearing the reviews in the international media. Thierry Giovannoni was very impressed with the attention to detail at the museum.

The Malta Classic Car Collection in Qawra is open to visitors from Monday to Saturday. For more information visit www.classiccarsmalta.com or call on 2157-8885.
