The FHRD's mission is to promote good human resource management and development practices, and to raise the profile of the HR profession locally.
Among the various strategic objectives to achieve this mission, the FHRD has, over the past few years, revamped its HR Awards to ensure that all large, medium and small entities from the private and public sectors can be recognised for their best HR practices.
Analysing the last two years' participating trends and through feedback from its clients, the FHRD has this year further improved its awards, basing them solely on set criteria.
Thus this year the FHRD is awarding companies for their excellent initiatives in human resource management and development, and for their excellence in people management, and training and development. In theory, this means that all participating organisations that attain such criteria will be awarded. There will be no company prevailing over others.
The FHRD has taken several approaches to attract those small companies where the HR unit is not structured and formal. Some of these approaches are the facilitating of reporting for participation, reaching out to these companies through Malta Enterprise and visits to companies by the FHRD CEO.
To date FHRD has 12 participating companies. This number has tripled over the last three years.
The closing date for submission of all documents is September 28 at noon. The HR Awarding Ceremony is scheduled for December 7 at the Hilton Malta, Portomaso, for which Employment Minister Louis Galea, CEOs, managing directors, directors and HR and Training practitioners will be invited.
