It is the government's intention to present its 2008 budget by mid-October, Parliamentary Secretary Tonio Fenech said yesterday.

Mr Fenech was addressing the social partners at the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development in the first meeting following the publication of the pre-budget document last Saturday.

Budget Day last year was October 18.
