A 31-year-old man was yesterday charged with stealing bags belonging to two tourists from a Sliema beach on Tuesday. Neil Andrew Vella, of Luqa, pleaded not guilty to stealing the two bags and relapsing.

He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli presided over the arraignment.

Police Inspectors Daniel Zammit and Stephen Gat prosecuted. Lawyer Robert Abela was defence counsel.
