Commuters waiting at the bus stop in Mdina Road, Attard, near the entrance to the industrial estate, have been left at the mercy of rain, the hot rays of the sun and strong winds, for the past two years, since the old bus shelter was removed.

On February, 19, 2007, I phoned up the Malta Transport Authority and spoke to Manuel Gatt and Kevin Zahra to ask for the relocation of the much-needed bus shelter.

I was informed by Mr Zahra that a number of bus shelters had been ordered by the authority from Japan last year. He assured me that, on arrival, one of the first 10 bus shelters to be put up would be at the site in question.

Lately, I have noticed quite a number of new bus shelters, complete with various eye-catching advertisements in various locations, including the road leading from the Fleur-de-lys round-about up Rabat/Mdina Road.

Could not one of these bus shelters have replaced the one removed from near the Attard industrial zone where no doorways or any other refuge from rain, wind or the sun's hot rays can be found?
