The Maritime and Aviation Section of the General Workers' Union has registered an industrial dispute with Airest Co. accusing it of failing to reach agreement over the transfer of workers within the company.

Airest supplies Air Malta planes with food and drinks.

The union said that after Airest had won the supply contract from Air Malta to supply catering for its aircraft, it had effected changes that had negatively affected members of the union. The GWU intends to launch industrial action in the coming days.
